ERC Building Addition Under Construction

June 27, 2005

The GRI is one of five centers/institutes which make up the ERC, an institute comprised of independent centers with the common characteristics of a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented effort that is strategically involved in the application and advancement of computational science and engineering using high-performance computing.

The main ERC building, located in the Thad Cochran Research, Technology, and Economic Development Park adjacent to the MSU campus in Starkville, Mississippi, is undergoing new construction to increase the building size by approximately 28,000 square feet. The existing ERC building is 44,000 square feet. The addition will be a two-story building, with the first floor housing a new computer data center, a director's suite, and an executive conference room. The second floor, nearly identical in design to the upper floor of the current ERC research wing, will provide for 23 additional academic and research faculty offices, 36 cubicles, and a conference room. The addition is expected to be completed in July 2006.
