GRI Faculty Affiliate Jim Thomas Wins National Award

Congratulations go to Jim Thomas, Extension Professor with the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering and faculty affiliate of the GRI, for being selected as the National Winner in the National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) Search for Excellence - Remote Sensing & Precision Agriculture Program. Thomas received a check and plaque at the July 12, 2004 Awards Ceremony of the NACAA Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference held in Orlando, Florida, and also presented a seminar at the conference entitled "Utilization of Remote Sensed Data for Field Verification in the SMART Program."

The purpose of the NACAA's Search for Excellence in Remote Sensing and Precision Agriculture Program is to recognize a member who has developed and carried out an outstanding extension educational program in utilizing remote sensing and/or precision agricultural techniques.
