GRI Graduate Research Assistant Receives Barrier Fellowship

Congratulations go to GRI Graduate Research Assistant, Pushkar Pradhan,who has recently been awarded a Barrier Fellowship from MSU's BagleyCollege of Engineering.

Pushkar has been working with Dr. Roger L. King, William L. GilesDistinguished Professor and Associate Director for Research of theGeoResources Institute, since January 2000. A PhD Graduate Student inElectrical Engineering, Pushkar also obtained his MS in ElectricalEngineering from MSU during that time. Prior to his arrival at MSU,Pushkar received his BE in Electronic Engineering from South GujaratUniversity, India.

Pushkar's specific interests are software development in remote sensingand parallel computing. He has been working with ERDAS software throughLeica-Geosystems, Inc. to develop a "wavelet based pan sharpening"software, based on Dr. King's algorithm.
