GRI Participates in The Coastal Mississippi Xtreme Weather Fair

Bay St. Louis - Dr. Pat Fitzpatrick and Jim Corbin, of GRI-Stennis, recently participated in The Coastal Mississippi Xtreme Weather Fair held at the Stennis International Airport, Bay St. Louis on May 16-17, 2004.

Dr. Fitzpatrick's hurricane research was the focus of an exhibit displaying information taken from his recent book titled Natural Disasters: Hurricanes. As a result of the GRI exhibit and materials presented at The Coastal Mississippi Xtreme Weather Fair, Dr. Fitzpatrick was asked to assist with the Mississippi Sound Maritime Historical Foundation's new museum that opened in Gulfport in February of this year.






Attended by hundreds of interested individuals, The Coastal Mississippi Xtreme Weather Fair's campaign slogan is to "plan, prepare, survive and restore" and is a community-sponsored event open to the public.
