GRI Researchers Release WISDOM Balloons
August 25, 2009A team of graduate students from Mississippi State University helped launch a weather monitoring balloon in Bay St. Louis as a part of a NOAA-funded project that's designed to help improve future hurricane forecasting.
This launch, a test launch, is in preparation for a big release of balloons next month that will collect valuable wind information ahead of advancing hurricanes.
