Two GRI Researchers Honored at the Intellectual Property Recognition Luncheon

October 10, 2008

Story PhotoValentine Anantharaj and Patrick Fitzpatrick of the Geosystems Research Institute (GRI) were two out of twenty-eight lead researchers from Mississippi State University who have been awarded a United States Patent or authorized a licensed copyright from 2006-2008. The Intellectual Property Recognition Luncheon was held on September 30, 2008 to honor these researchers for their resourcefulness and hard work. Intellectual property contributions are an important asset to a university, elevating its stature and economic development. Their successes benefit us all. Mr. Anantharaj and Dr. Fitzpatrick were honored specifically for their copyrights on the “MODIS-Atmosphere Data Handler” and the “Incorporation of MODIS Land Cover Data into COAMPS”.
