GRI Scheduling Aerial Fly-Overs for Multispectral Imagery Acquisition

May 25, 2006

Each year, GRI coordinates and sponsors a limited number of flights over Mississippi agricultural research plots in order to provide researchers with essential multispectral imagery. It is now time to send in your requests for this imagery.

In past years, the GRI has scheduled flights to obtain vast amounts of imagery over the state, sometimes approaching $1 million in cost, and proving to be an extremely beneficial tool for our researchers.

Anyone requesting the imagery should provide the following information in order to schedule the flights accordingly:
  • location (please include a shapefile of the field or bounding coordinates)
  • approximate flight dates
  • resolution
Please submit your multispectral imagery requests for this summer immediately. To submit your request or for more information on this program, please contact Louis Wasson at 662-325-3167 or lwasson@gri.msstate.edu.
